KATOがドイツの老舗ジオラマ用品メーカーであるNOCHとコラボ・開発した「日本の草はら」シリーズ。
「日本の風景は、日本の色で」をコンセプトに、日本の気候が育んだその独特な草や木々の色合いを再現するのに最適な素材です。日本の草はら・深雪は、KATOがドイツの老舗シーナリーメーカーであるNOCH社とコラボレーションして作られた、日本の風景のための新しいジオラマ材料シリーズです。

​日本の気候が育んだ独特な色合いの草や木々は、既製品のシーナリーに比べると「もっと暗い」「もっと濁っている」「もっとくすんでいる」のではないかと、私たちは考えました。
全体的には濁ったような自然色の中で、時折見かける芝生のはっとするようなエメラルドグリーンや、​秋になりまだらに色づいた木立の中で、真っ赤に色づいた紅葉に心を奪われるのが、日本の侘び寂びの世界。
鉄道模型にとどまらず、プラモデル、フィギュア、ドールハウス、インスタレーション・アートなど、さまざまな用途にお使いいただけるよう、​「にほん」にこだわった色と素材の製品です。
